LET’S BUILD A COMMUNITY CENTER FOR THOSE THE OIKOS SISTERS SERVE!
As many of you may know, the Oikos Sisters have constructed a village for the poor, those who were homeless and landless. Twenty homes have been built along with two wells and a community garden. This village is developing into a closely knit community where neighbors are there for each other in times of need.
Why is the Community Center important?
A gathering place is needed for the Oikos Sisters to be able to minister to those in the village and in neighboring communities.
What will the Community Center provide?
A place for the Sisters to:
~ Help mothers learn how to bake, open a laundry shop, grow fruits and vegetables for their families to sell in the market.
~ Teach their livelihood programs such as the Piglet Recycling and Fattening Programs and FAITH…Food Always In The Home.
~ Tend to the health needs of the people as the center will be used as a temporary medical and dental center plus a free pharmacy for the poor.
~ Help achieve the ultimate dream of the scholars, graduating from college through formation programs, counseling and tutoring.
~ Hold retreats for their youth and adults, bible sharing, arts and crafts events and gatherings for the elderly.
~ And finally say goodbye to the cost of renting places!

Last year’s Giving Tuesday was the beginning of this effort. 100% of your donation will go directly to building the Community Center.
We already have $1,700.00 toward matching our challenge…Together we can do this!!!
